The Best of Zdob si Zdub 1995-2005

2 years ago we organized our own recording studio and started experiments with sound. The results of these experiments one could hear on “450 Sheep” album. We also decided that in 5 years of our concert life our old hits acquired their perfect form and it would be great to record them with a new sound and present them to our fans and especially in Europe.
This way there appeared new versions of “Zdubii Bateti Tare”, «Haitura», «hardcore Moldovenesc». Now these songs acquired modern sound and new arrangements. “Gypsy and UFO”, “Sirba de la Chisinau” and “Videli Noci” changed a lot and were recorded in English language as it is important for us to make our music understandable for European fans, who know us only from “450 Sheep”.
For our 10th anniversary we prepare a compilation of these 10 best songs + several new tracks. “Bunica Bate Doba” (Grandmother hits the Drum) is among them. We would like to present this song for Moldavian selection round of Eurovision 2005. We are foreseeing several featurings for the album – with MC Vasile and “Fanfara Ciocarlia” orchestra. Now we are negotiating. During last years the band prepared 3 cover versions for “Nevesta” song by Mummi Trol, “Paint in Black” by The Rolling Stones and "Come with me" – soundtrack from “Godzilla” movie. Unfortunately the presence of these tracks in our album depends on the recording companies, that will release it, as they have to obtain the rights to release the covers from the authors, and this is extremely difficult especially with well-known stars…
At present moment we give very few concerts as we are intensively working at studio. ZsZ are planning to accomplish the work for the album by the end of March. The start of sales will depend on the area. More detailed information will appear later.

P.S. The changes in band’s composition are possible, but this is not for sure yet…
