On January 17 the band “Zdob si Zdub” submitted the song “So Lucky” to the National (Moldovan) Selection of Eurovision Song Contest 2011 that will take place in Dusseldorf (Germany), May 10-14. A total of around 100 songs were proposed at that stage.
The first qualifying round took place on January 22, when the Jury, appointed by the Company “TeleRadio-Moldova” (Moldovan National Broadcaster), auditioned the recordings, in the absence of the artists, and selected 60 to enter the second national semi-final. “So lucky” is among these 60 songs.
In the second round, which will be held on January 29, each participant will be given 3 minutes to showcase their vocal abilities. The artists are invited to perform their songs “a cappella”, without using any special concert equipment. The Jury will select 25 artists that will participate in the National Final.
The National Final will take place on February 26, in a concert format. The final result regarding who is to represent Moldova at Eurovision Song Contest 2011 will be determined by a combination of 50% - Jury and 50% - viewers voting.
You can listen to the song “So Lucky” on the contest’s website. Shortly, after a little refinement, we will present you a new version of the song in high-quality audio format. An important feature of “So Lucky” – the song is taken from our new album that was produced by Marc Elsner and recorded last year in Berlin.
